Journal entry by Matthew Fahy —
Hi Everyone,
We are home a few days now and Maeve has settled in and is thriving. Maeve is gaining weight and we can see she is getting stronger by the day. Cillian is delighted to have us all home together as a family too. We have to pinch ourselves to think the past month really happened but it will be four weeks tomorrow since we called 911.
Now knowing we have eyes on this journal, we want to take a minute to ask everyone who's been touched by Maeve's story to consider donating blood. Maeve had two blood transfusions while in the hospital and without them who knows where we would be. By donating blood, you can help the next Maeve or anyone else in need at a critical juncture.
It's actually a very straight forward process to find a local blood drive and set up an appointment. We've included a link below to the Red Cross in both the US and Ireland. We would encourage everyone to seriously think about it. Also for any Irish in the US who believe they are not eligible to donate because of CJD (mad cow disease), the rules changed in 2020 and you are now eligible to donate in the US.
Thanks again for all the support,
Matthew, Caitlin, Cillian and Maeve

A $25 donation to CaringBridge powers a site like Maeve's for two weeks. Will you make a gift to help ensure that this site stays online for them and for you?
