Wow what a day!!! My mom, Maeve and I all left at 5 am this morning to fly to St. Jude in Memphis. She was fitted for her first (of many) prosthetic this morning and it went so well! She was standing within seconds and left it on all day!! We then headed over to meet the orthopedic team where they said everything was looking amazing and were in disbelief with how well she is doing. Her incision is healing and her strength and flexibility were incredible. Finally we went to physical therapy where she officially got her new walker - so look out everyone! She’s going to be cruising in no time.
We left Memphis just in time to get back home to see dad and his friends finish the last few holes of the St. Jude Golf Outing - and Maeve was of course the honorary guest.
Oh, and did I forget to mention… we got final pathology back and Maeve is CANCER FREE!!!! They were able to get everything with the amputation and doesn’t need any further treatment!! They will continue to monitor every 6 months for the next few years, but we are just in tears with how amazing our Monday was today. And we are beyond proud of our not so little girl 🥺
So much love and thanks to everyone. God is SO good!!
Matt, Nichole & Maeve
