Journal entry by Jacob Nault

Dear ones,

The dust is settling after the loss of our dear Mae Lee. Melanie and her family are back in Wisconsin (although she and Bob will be returning briefly to collect the last of the belongings we are bringing to our home.) Mae Lee was supposed to come to Wisconsin to visit our family for 7 weeks on the very same day Melanie and I flew back, and her absence is felt in our home here.

We want to once more share our thanks for the many ways you have supported us in this difficult time—food, many bouquets of flowers, hugs, cards, and prayers. We appreciate them all more than we can put into words. We’re so thankful for the ways Mae Lee’s life was enriched by each of you.

We are also grateful for the beautiful memorial service that Mae Lee’s beloved Binkley Church offered to celebrate her life. We especially thank the choir of her friends, pianist Bo Lloyd, Rev. Dr. Marcus McFaul, director of music Kyle Ballantine, ministry support manager Stephenie Sanders, and videographer Megan Hollenbeck for their help in making this a beautiful celebration of her life.

If you’d like to watch the service again, please note that you will need the YouTube link below to find it; it is no longer available by a regular YouTube search.

Thank you for following Mae Lee’s journey as she transitioned into eternal life. We will all miss her dearly because of the important role she played in each of our lives. May we now share with others the love, friendship and good humor that was such a part of who she was.

Goodbye, Grandma. I love you! We’ll see you again.

In gratitude,

Jacob
