Journal entry by Audry Chamberlin —
Surgery is completed. Dr. Acton removed a large portion of her diaphragm today. He didn’t have to cut the major nerve so within six months it should have nerve regeneration and be completely back to normal. She shouldn’t even notice the difference with her normal breathing.
She has a chest tube in and two incision sites. She is in a lot of pain and resting right now. We are just trying to stay on top of the pin right now. The staff here has been wonderful. We have a nice big room.
