Madison & Lance’s Story

Site created on January 29, 2023

Many of you know the Bethany and Dean Drent family, parents of Madi, Payton, Jack, and Morgan Drent. They are a wonderful Lakeville family who have experienced a tragedy.

On the afternoon of Jan 28th, both Madi and her boyfriend Lance were hit by a car while they were walking. They were visiting his family on the east coast and were spending the day on the boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ.

Both Madi & Lance were struck by a car, then hit the windshield, and then the ground. Madi’s legs were broken, and she arrived in a coma. They are keeping her in one to help keep the pressure down so her brain can heal. Lance was unconscious and banged up, but he is now awake. They are monitoring his severe concussion.

Both families need your prayers as they wait for more word from the doctors and for their children to heal - so many prayers.

The family is also expected to face many unanticipated expenses in the coming weeks, so a go fund me page has been set up for them here:

Newest Update

Journal entry by Bethany Drent

Hello! It has been a few months since I updated everyone. There’s a lawsuit pending and we have been advised to discontinue updates. Through the updates, I tried to focus on the positive, but it’s important that the pain, challenges, and long hours of therapy don’t get overlooked or somehow lessened. Please know that Madi’s incredible strength and determination, along with Lance’s never-failing support, are getting her through this and we are so happy to announce Madi and Lance’s engagement! Thank you so much for all of your love and support- you will never truly know how much each gesture, thought, and prayer meant and continues to mean to us!! ❤️
