Macy’s Story

Site created on November 26, 2023

Gratitude. To be thankful takes on a whole new meaning in the midst of grief. To remain grateful is hard when the troubles of a broken body hinder me from remembering that the Lord has saved me! His graciousness to me is sufficient to endure the pain of this world.

For the past several months, I have noticed a small little bump on my neck. No pain, no redness, just a little knot. After ultrasounds, biopsies, and surgery, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. To give the entire story of how I got here could fill a book, but know that the Lord has worked things out in a way that only He can.

In the last 10 days, I have been simply overwhelmed with gratitude at the work of the Lord and His people. I have NO other explanation for the peace in my heart than my trust in the sovereign plan of God. This is not a testimony of fear, but one of faith in the Lord. I can do nothing, but He is my everything. I am so SO grateful for my strong parents, my sisters, my supportive friends, my sweet Haydn, and for all of the nurses, doctors, and surgeons. The reasons I have to thank the Lord are innumerable.

As I continue to get answers and begin treatment, I promise to try my best to keep all my sweet friends updated! Thank you all for your prayers and kind words!

"But you, O Lord, are a shield around me; you are my glory, the one who holds my head high. I cried out to the Lord, and he answered me from his holy mountain." Psalm 3:3-4

Newest Update

Journal entry by Michael and Ginger Cloud

Today’s update…Macy had her PET scan and will meet with the oncologist next week (instead of this week).

We are so proud of her! She’s carried a heavy load these past six months. But the Lord is her strength! We’re thankful she’s completed the spring semester at college all the while enduring chemotherapy treatments.

Last week we celebrated her birthday. God has given her a great group of friends that have walked beside her on this journey. Special thanks to these young ladies & to all of you for your prayers & encouragement!

“Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.” Ephesians 6:10
