More than fifteen years ago, Lynne was diagnosed with a rare soft tissue cancer called Leiomyosarcoma (LMS). She has spent every day since then defying her prognosis (2-5 years of life) by traveling the world with her best friend and husband Bob, spending time with her beloved grandchildren (Alex, Sam, Archer and Monty) and their parents (Karen(Justin), Sara (Ryann) and Adam (Danielle), and participating in MANY beloved social circles.

In early January 2020, after eleven surgeries and seven different chemotherapies, Lynne decided she would no longer seek treatment for her cancer so that she could spend her remaining days seeking joy and enjoying connection with her loved ones rather than managing chemo side effects. Within one week, her illness took a significant turn and after an ambulance ride and week in ICU, we learned that despite being told her LMS was not likely to spread to brain tissue, Lynne had two tumors growing in motor-related areas of the brain. As a result of these tumors, she experienced a hemorrhagic stroke which has significantly impaired her mobility, especially on the left side of her body.

Although Lynne does not want to seek additional treatment for her liver and lung metastases, she has been given the option to pursue a one time game-knife radiosurgery treatment that could mitigate additional brain issues. Furthermore, with her strong spirit, she is receiving in-home OT and PT to determine whether she can restore any functioning that would support her current life goal of enjoying life and having fun each and every day.

We are starting this Caring Bridge website to support our communication efforts. We have the BEST problem there is... we have such a wonderfully large and loving community seeking updates and information about this wonderful woman. We want to bring you into the circle to share this journey with you all and gain strength from you as we walk this journey as a family.

Many people have asked what they can do to help. Here are some ideas:

1) Mail us a photo of yourself with our mother. If you don't have one with her, send one of you doing something you love. We would love to surround her with images of all those who love her.

2) Spread joy. Do something joyful and send joyful thoughts our way. Lynne is determined to find joy in each day - even if it is something as simple as telling a funny story or doing the hokey pokey with family.

3) Pray for our mother and for all of us. We are uplifted by your support and good thoughts and know that she and God are just moving closer to perfection and wholeness with each passing day.

4) Leave your comments here so that we can share them with her. She loves when we read to her, and your messages are a source of great love and comfort.
