Journal entry by Lyn Browne

I lost the love of my life tonight. Lyn (Marilyn) Browne, passed into the arms of Jesus on March 21 in Hopewell House after a 15 month long battle with cancer. Although cancer invaded her body, it never touched her spirit. Always the encourager, she wanted everyone to celebrate her life, not grieve over her death. To the end, she was urging others to be strong and rejoice at her transition.

Lyn was born in Greensboro NC, on April 10, 1947 to Marvin and Eileen Wooters who both preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Greg, her daughter Kristen and husband Jared Linden of Longmont CO, her grandson Justin Sterling of Beaverton OR, three granddaughters Julie Shatzer of La Luz, NM, Callie Burtcher of Salt Lake City, UT, and Misha Neuman of Longmont, CO. She also has a great granddaughter, Rosemary Burtcher.

Lyn spent many years on the mission field, ministering to women in third-world countries. She was also a teacher, leading bible studies for the women of her home church. Always gracious, she loved everyone she met with the love of Jesus. She will be missed by many but will never really be gone, because she lives on in their memories.

A memorial celebration of life service is being planned.
