Lydia’s Story

Site created on February 26, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your prayer and supoort.

After taking Lydia to the E.R. with concerning symptoms, and receiving a tentative leukemia diagnosis, we were transferred to the children's hospital in Spokane for an official diagnosis and treatment. After testing, we received confirmation that she has B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

"...do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me." Philippians 4:6-13

Please join us in celebrating Lydia’s last day of treatment!

It has been a busy, and joyous month for us. We started the month with Lydia getting her port removed and her final l.p. on the 2nd, then she had the final doctor appointment of her treatment plan a couple weeks later on the 19th. Last Sunday, we celebrated the end of her treatment with a potluck/cake and ice cream party at church. Later that week, we welcomed our newest family member, and Lydia’s much prayed for sister, Phoebe. Tonight, she took her last chemo pill, officially finishing her regular treatment plan!

We are so thankful to have reached this point, and praise God for his abundant blessings and endless mercies.
