Lyda says: "Hello family. 2019 started with shocking news for me. It is not easy to let you all know that I have a diagnosis of breast cancer on Monday January 14. Today (January 22) I met with my surgeion and we came up with a treatment plan. In the next few weeks I will start three months of chemotherapy. Then I will have surgery after that. I have strong support from Danny and Lily and of course my family, close friends and co-workers. I have always been a fighter and strong in my life since a very young age and I am going to make it through this. Danny is feeling useless right now but he is  with me side by side. I'm grateful and very lucky. Will let you know an update here and there. Love to you all!"

Life in Remission : Today marks my 2nd year of Breast Cancer Survivorship. I'm grateful for the STRENGTH and resilience in my body after all the treatments and surgery, grateful to nourish it back to health, grateful for the healing love of my soulmate, Dan, and my family -- and thankful for everyone here who has supported and encouraged me with such love and humor. Regardless of Covid, I managed to complete all my follow up doctor’s appointments; some minor treatment for pain management. All the results were good – YES, for the green light!!

Thankful for this 49th year of life that makes me grateful to CREATE!! To learn the year ahead invigorates me to create all the things I’ve always wanted to enjoy & especially to spend time with my siblings, family and traveling. I am confident that 2021 will bring me and all of you with a better outcome. But most of all – I am utterly grateful for life. THANK YOU for all the birthday wishes !!!!

2018, 2019 and 2020 were unprecedented years for me and my family. We gained great momentum fighting with various health issues, and then a global pandemic and racial unrest changed our community. In a time of transition and uncertainty, one thing was made abundantly clear - WE ARE HERE as a family, as good friends, great communities for one and others.

It was in an awakening the last three years, one that made me recognize what it means to be truly GRATEFUL . Grateful for the little things that soothe my soul and mind. Like making time for myself, having a good laugh with my husband, reading a good book, walking in the woods/hiking trip with my brother, and hanging out with my great and close friends at the lake or for lunch and coffee times. Some of you have asked what is next. My answer is self-care & self-love; continuing with all my medical care routines with a long team goal treatment plan for the next 5 years, focusing on what I love and do best including my work, traveling, financial freedom, health - mind and body.

That’s all for now!! Be sure to take care of yourself and focusing on your health physically, mentally and financially. Be love, be bold and stay true to yourself.
