Journal entry by Lou Alvarado

it has been three years since my heart stopped for thirty minutes and it hasn’t been easy to keep on going and working on recovery .  this morning I woke up and decided It was going to be a good day. Until I realize what day it was, And I started to cry. Looking back has been very hard. I have a lot to be thankful for. I have always been lucky every now and then I need to remind myself that I need to count my blessings . I’m very lucky to have always had the best doctors in Minnesota and San Diego! Also some of the best therapist that anyone could ask for. Every day is challenging from the time I wake up to the time I go to sleep. Sometimes to go to sleep and hope I wake up completely cured and normal again. I look forward to going to my appointments And hope that I will learn how to make a difference in my health. i pray for a Miracle every day , that my physical medicine will find the right medicine or injection to treat my muscle pain and make it easier to talk and to be able to return to what i was doing to prevent the heart attack and after my return to san diego. i miss running on the beach and walking around with my loved ones. my return to minnesota did not work out as everyone hoped that it would. Gayle and i divorced and i returned back to my family. i’m spending more time with kids and grandson now than i had hoped before and i’m watching the twins baseball games with my dad.  i go to the gym every other day for a workout and maybe two days a week for cardio. i try to stay positive and keep motivated. after all it’s another day in paradise! the other option is not so good. please keep me in your prayers 🙏because prayers are what kept me alive and thriving! i hope to finish writing my story soon:
