Lucy’s Story

Site created on March 3, 2021

Keelie and Ryan welcomed Lucy Beth on March 2, weighing 8 pounds 0 ounces with beautiful dark hair.  During the scheduled c-section delivery, Lucy experienced a fetomaternal hemorrhage, causing her to be born extremely low on blood and not breathing.  She immediately had a blood transfusion and was subsequently intubated and placed on a ventilator to help her breathe. She is responding well to treatment in the NICU and we are praying for a full recovery!  Thank you so much for your prayers!

We plan to provide daily "journal" updates.

Journal entry by Keelie Reneau

Lucy is 4 months old! We appreciate all the continued prayers, support, and Lucy check ins we receive.

All of Lucy’s doctor visits have been great. She continues to gain weight and grow taller. Her doctor has zero concerns about her growth and development at this point.

Lucy appears to be doing all the baby things. She is good at eating, blowing bubbles, putting everything in her mouth, rolling over, and smiling really big!

It has been a busy, fun, and tiring 4 months but we have enjoyed every moment of it.

Thank you again for asking about Lucy.
