Newest Update

Journal entry by Kaelynn Dusosky

Hello everyone,

We’ve been waiting to update this.
Lucy had an MRI and CT scan Friday morning, these are the routine every 3 month scans that she gets to make sure she is still in the clear with cancer.
After keeping ourselves distracted and busy awaiting results this morning at her Scan review her provider told us and showed us she is still cancer free. A sigh of relief presented to Lucy and myself and my dad who drove us this morning after a snow storm. While we realized we didn’t need a ride, it also was super sweet of him to be with us. I know Lucy enjoyed having her “papa” with.

A few other things discussed at the appointment is medications to stop and ones to restart. Lucy has unfortunately lost some more weight so we are making some changes to her nutrition after consulting with a nutritionist and her starting her appetite stimulant again. It’s feels hard to discuss this, Lucy is a young woman and body image issues are a real thing. We all agreed a
Some changes were needed so Lucy can continue to thrive. The nutritionist explained best that Lucy’s body is working even harder and losing more weight is harmful for her. We love Lucy and are here to support these changes in a healthy way without causing distress.

Now on to even better news.. On 4/5 her Power Port comes out!!!!!

This feels like such an accomplishment. We will be going to Saint Paul for this surgery.

Besides these updates, we are once again focused on living life.

So ready for Hawaii!
