Update from Danica

Week 21/120 of treatment. 

The homesickness has started to hit full swing. We are in the middle of week 5 down in Memphis, and getting antsy to get home. Of course, right as we get his sugars under control, he got to resume chemo (which is great, but it lowered his sugar again). The Memphis team also reached out to our genetic doctor from a few months back just to double check and see if there’s any potential reason he’s having glucose trouble other than due to treatment. So for now we’re stuck here until they can get his sugars under control without intervention or until they can set up our follow up appointments with an endocrinologist close to home. But finding an endocrinologist that can squeeze us into their schedule has been a challenge. Endos are hard to find, so they’re also always booked. We feel like sitting ducks to be honest. 

On a good note: the babies are still having fun. They love to play in the family commons, especially when they get to see other kids there.
