Lisa’s Story

Site created on September 22, 2023

Some of you are aware of this and others may be hearing this for the first time. In a bit of a whirlwind, Lisa was diagnosed with a brain tumor in July that proved to be cancerous. In early September a significant portion of the tumor was removed. Since mid-September, Lisa has been working hard at a rehabilitation facility in Roswell. The tumor, located on the left side of her brain, has significantly impacted, and limited, Lisa’s mobility on her right side. The plan is for her to begin the next phase of treatment including radiation and chemo on Tuesday. This is also the same day she will be coming home. Now is the time to encourage Lisa and show how much we all love her.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Steve Broyles

Update: Lisa's platelets hit an all-time high of 105, which is as high as they have been in 6 months. She now receives an injection every Monday called Nplate to get those platelets elevated. She was also approved for a new infusion therapy that will starve the tumor of its blood supply. That begins Friday (May 3) at Emory JC hospital and will be the first actual cancer intervention treatment she has received since ending radiation/chemo in early November 2023.

I know this may sound quick, but I have sold our house. We begin the search for a new house tomorrow. Pray for Lisa as the stress of what's happening is overwhelming enough under normal conditions.

Along that line, we can use folks who like to pack boxes. Text me at 678-333-3962 if you would like to help. We are also getting rid of a lot of stuff. I will begin to make a list of those items. More to come.
