Journal entry by Terry Walter

It’s been a l-o-n-g winter for Lou.  He was failing fast while he was a resident of Vancouver Speciality Rehab in Vancouver, and we struggled mightily to find a new living situation for him. With good luck, we were able to find Padua Adult Family home and moved him into a private room in January.  And just in time!  He was so very frail and had a terrible infection in his foot.  He was hospitalized a few times but always bounced back.  He is right around the corner from Joe’s house and has gotten out in his wheelchair to cruise the neighborhood.  He promptly came down with pneumonia after a trip in the rain and was hospitalized AGAIN.  His foot infection had gotten to the bone, which may lead to amputation in the next week or so.  We are in waiting mode again.  If you would like to send him a card or note, his address is:
   1827 SE 76th Ave, Portland OR 97215-3522
