Journal

We’ve entered day four of our journey. Just as in the labor process, we’ve gathered around the bedside of a loved one, comfort meds have been administered, prayers have been said, laughs have been had and tears have been shed. There are so many similarities in the dying and birth processes. As many times as I’ve seen both, I don’t think I’ve ever compared the two. When he takes his last breath he will be carried by his Father into his new eternity. Just has a baby taking its first breath in the arms of their mother. The one difference is we, as humans, feel the effects of grief and how powerful those can be. Our heart aches because he is leaving this life but we have to celebrate the life he is gaining.

Today I can say nothing else matters. The bills, the job, the troubles I was worried about four days ago. None of it. What matters is our faith in God and our family and friends. My family and I are so humbled and touched by the amount of support we have received. The visitors and caregivers that have joined us thus far have seriously been what gives us the strength to get through each hour. We will be forever grateful!

We are at Savannah Court of MAitland Assisted Living room 214. Come on by! Love to you all

Many Blessings,
The Traber/ Meredith/ Zembower family
