Welcome to our CaringBridge website for our mom. We really encourage comments on the posts that we will read and share with mom when we are able to. Thank you all.

Newest Update

Journal entry by Lexi M

Well... I had this all written out yesterday and was going to post it today for a final update, but of course plans have changed a little.  So... first I will paste what we originally were going to post today.

Many of you have already figured this out, but I thought I would make a final post on this CaringBridge site. Mom started updating on her Facebook page for those who are wondering how she is doing. We are closing in on 6 months. We are so grateful for all the love and support she has received since returning home. She claims she is like her granddaughter and basically her day consist of eating and sleeping and exercising. She has enjoyed all of the company and visits from her friends near and far. We appreciate all the help everyone has given her, it’s made it possible for us to be able to return to work and school, which is what Mom wanted!

Mom meets with her surgeon Friday and is having a small checkup procedure to make sure everything is healing well. She is taking him chocolates and a card.  Well you know, life is like a box of chocolates!

Feel free to reach out to mom any time.  She loves company and guaranteed she will talk you into a game if you stop over.

She has been working hard to get back to her normal life.  She is very close and doesn’t slow down by choice.  She has traveled some and has three trips coming up! Mom is convinced she will find a wig she loves eventually but after searching through hundreds of wigs I am not sure she likes them lol. She works out every day, no longer needs walking devices, and she naps less and is getting back to the mom we all know.  She still says she is not ready to cook.  I think she is just taking advantage of that!

Love to all. Lori’s kids

However, life is always unexpected of course. As noted above, mom had her procedure today. In terms of the actual procedure, it went good! The results however were not what we were hoping or expecting. They have said the aneurysm has grown and the previous coil mom had put in has moved distantly. They will be doing another procedure to put in a second flow diverter (which will stabilize the aneurysm). We don't have a date set yet, but they want this done within the next month.

So much for a final update, but that is all I have for now! Please keep checking in on moms Facebook and praying for her on her journey throughout all of this!
