Logan’s Story

Please note... we are not looking for any kind of monetary donations. This is only set up to easily update our friends.

Welcome to Logan’s CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

As most of you are aware, Logan was involved in a horrendous accident at our home Monday morning.

Logan currently suffers a lacerated spleen, lacerated kidney, broken vertebrae near the tailbone of his spine, a collapsed lung, fractured ribs, and severely crushed legs. He has a major loss of soft tissue on the bottom of his legs and therefore has exposed bone.

We are taking one day at a time. The doctors were able pin his femurs back together and hopeful he’ll make a full recovery of the upper half of his legs. They have done the best they can at piecing his tibia and fibula back together. Moments ago they removed Logan’s breathing tube and he is now just on an oxygen mask for the time being.

Logan is scheduled for another surgery tomorrow 8/19/2020 to further clean out his wounds and see how the bottom of his legs are healing.

We appreciate all of the love and support we’ve received over the past 24 hours and have been trying to respond to everyone.

Journal entry by Scott Woodland

Yesterday, November 15, 2022 Logan received his new prosthetic foot.  The design on the prosthetic was a combined effort with input from a few people and Logan's approval.  He said it was such an epic day for him.  At 9am he received his new foot and tried it on and at 10:15 he was in Physical Therapy learning how to walk on it.  He was using his walker and crutches as he builds some strength up in his legs again.  Today he had Physical Therapy again and he was walking without using anything.  We are sooo happy and impressed by him.  This has been a long 27 months to see him finally walking normally again.  God truly works miracles.

This may seem silly, but it really made me happy...today he walked to my truck, opened the door and hoped in all by himself.  I didn't have to load him in from a wheelchair or walker.  I'm sure he will need to use some type of crutch for a little bit, but what a new found sense of freedom he has again.  Our family thanks you all so much for your support and prayers.  Thank you.
