Love and heartache
Hope and despair

The feelings swing back and forth.
The last 10 days have been very heavy and hard to handle.

On Wednesday, February 23rd, Lizzy went into Children's Hospital to get her pain under control. The headaches were gruesome. She needed to get relief before her approaching trip to San Francisco for a clinical trial that weekend.
An MRI at the hospital showed significant growth and spread of cancer.
What was seen on the scans, was proven in the quality of Lizzy's life.
In a matter of days she lost the ability to make facial expressions, swallow and speak.
Kelly and Tim made the difficult decision to transition Lizzy into hospice care.

Monday, February 28th, Lizzy came home.
For days she was showered with love by family, friends, teachers and neighbors.

Kelly, Tim, Emily, Grace and Lizzy opened their hearts and doors to visitors, therapy dogs, artists, etc.
A "Child Life Specialist" team came over to create hand-print art with the family.
They now have a plaque of Lizzy's handprint to touch, hold and connect with.

Family knew the time was coming.
