Liz’s Story

Site created on July 11, 2022

On July 8th, after not feeling well, our sweet Liz went to the emergency room at Castle Rock Adventist Hospital.  In the early morning hours of July 9th, she suffered a cardiac arrest and fought for 42 minutes to stay with us. Surgery was needed to repair internal damage and Liz was placed in a medically induced coma. We are anxiously awaiting her to open those beautiful blue eyes, but are in hour 60 ( afternoon of July 11th) of a 72 hour waiting period to asses possible damage to her brain.

We know Liz is loved by so many, so we will do our best to keep this updated as we receive information. We ask for prayers for Liz’s full recovery and support for her family.

Thank you to everyone who has reached out looking to help. We are so thankful for any donations toward Liz’s medical expenses. If you’d like to help, please use the Go Fund Me link below instead of donating through Caring Bridge. The Go Fund Me account will go directly to the Smith family, while donations through Caring Bridge support the site rather than the family.
