Liz’s Story

Site created on August 24, 2020

2020 has been nothing short of difficult for all of us, but some are faced with an even bigger fight.  In the beginning of the year, Liz started to feel pain in her abdomen.  After several tests and surgery, Liz was  diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer.  Since then, she and her family have been met with many ups and downs that have tested their strength and their sanity, but never their faith.  Thank you for visiting Liz's site, and showing her that you are fighting along side her in the battle of her life.   Your prayers, thoughts, well wishes, and love are more appreciated than you will ever know.   #LoveforLiz

I have no idea if I did this right, but above should be a link to Liz's funeral service at St. Matthew's, which was held yesterday. If you are on Facebook, it might be easier to find it there, if you so desire. Because of COVID restrictions, we had to limit it to a small group, but if I had my way, I would have loved to see all of you there so I could give you a hug.
Since this is probably my last post here, I want to thank all of you for your prayers and support over the last few months. We set up this page to help keep friends and family informed throughout Liz's cancer journey. But I must tell you that your comments and prayers and encouragement have been so helpful to me. Thank you so much.
Gary is not much for words, but if you are interested in what he has to say, there is a beautiful tribute on Liz's obituary page. The next few months will be a challenge for us, since it still does not seem real. But for Elizabeth, it will be the best holiday season ever. As she said on her FB page, and as the pastor spoke about in the service yesterday, "And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes." Revelation 7:17 God's blessings to you all.
