Liza’s Story

Site created on January 31, 2023

Earlier this fall, Liza started feeling sick and thought it was a cold or virus. However over time, the symptoms continued to worsen and she began visiting multiple doctors and specialists for testing and wanting answers and treatment. By December, her symptoms and pain had increased significantly, and she visited the ER multiple times hoping for relief and a plan.  In  beginning of January, she was finally referred  to Mayo Clinic to see the nations top doctors to get some answers. On Monday January 23rd she had a PET scan and on Tuesday January 24th, she was told she has Lymphoma.  Update: Her diagnosis is Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

While Liza is definitely in shock; feeling anxious and nervous about this all, she also remains hopeful and her light is shining bright. We  plan to keep the site updated with information and ways to help as she continues to get tests and meet with her care team to determine a plan for beating this.

There is also a GoFundMe attached under Ways To Help - if you care to offer any financial support.

Journal entry by Ashley Sherwood

It has been almost 2 months since the last post! Since then, Liza's fundraiser in June was a huge success and so many people came to celebrate and share the love. She is so thankful for each and every one of you! She has been back to work and doing what she loves everyday.

And...if you have not heard...

Liza is thrilled to report that she is IN REMISSION!!! What an amazing blessing for her and all the hard work her body had to endure to get to this point. She is starting to grow her baby hairs back and is beyond excited for this next chapter in her life.

Thank you again - so very very much for your continued love, support, prayers, donations, gifts and time spent loving on our Liza.  We are so lucky to know her and so grateful she is in remission.
