Journal entry by Jim Janknegt

Lissa and I went to see the oncologist to get the pathology report today. Thanks be to God it was a good report. They found nothing but pre-cancerous cells in the left breast and the DCI in the right breast which we were expecting. But they also found invasive DCI cells in the right breast. The good news was that is was small, about 1/4 inch, and they got it all out. There were no invasive cells in the blood or the lymph nodes. So the result is there will be no need for chemo or radiation. Lissa will have to take an estrogen blocker and take periodic infusions to prevent the side effect of bone deterioration. We are very grateful for this news. She is healing up nicely and hopes to get her drains taken out tomorrow when we go to visit the surgeon. She still gets tired easily as is to be expected. All in all a very good report.
