Hello everyone, just wanted to update you on Lisa's progress. First I have some bad news and good news. I was always taught to give the bad news first followed by the good news, so good news is what everyone leaves with. Our beloved Bailey of 14 years passed away on July 4th. She was such a loving dog as most dogs are. They give us many of the best days of our lives and also one of the worst days. I was lucky to be with her and hold her as she took her last breathe. She had been suffering for some time and was just her time to go to a better place where she is no longer in pain. We will all miss her dearly, but are so fortunate for the 14 years we had with her. Now for the good news, Lisa has finished her radiation treatments and rang the bell last Thursday. This is something that was new to us as well, but you get to ring a bell when you are finished with your treatments. Everything went very well. She meets back with her radiation doctor In a month along with her eye doctor. She has her next MRI scheduled for 3 months out. We pray to God that the treatments killed this tumor and is no longer growing. If all looks well, she will have MRI's every 6 months for awhile and then yearly. We can begin to express our gratitude for all the prayers and things so many people have helped with along this very hard journey. We know that it is not over, but a major part of it is now over and all we can do is hope for the best. God bless everyone of you for all your help. I will keep you updated as things progress.
