Lisa’s Story

Site created on October 7, 2023

On Monday, October 2nd, my mom suffered a brain aneurysm, causing a severe subarachnoid hemorrhage, as well as a host of other issues to her organs and body. They were able to perform an angiogram and aneurysm coiling to stop the rupture from bleeding any further.

Since Monday, the doctors and nurses have been working hard to help drain blood from the brain, attempt to stabilize her heart, clear out her lungs that are building with fluid from potential aspiration phenomena, stabilize her temperature, control ventilation, among many other things. She has constant CT scans, ultrasounds, and tests to detect any further complications, and we deal with those issues individually each day as they arise.

She remains in very critical condition, and doctors have been honest with us about how bad her case is. They say that it is still early to determine what brain damage has taken place, as she is on heavy pain medication that can cloud her ability to respond to commands such as “squeeze my hand”, “open/close your eyes”, “wiggle your toes”, etc.

We have been at the hospital every day holding her hand and reminding her how many people love her and are cheering her on. Lisa is larger than life and has such a caring and vivacious spirit. We ask that you send my mom prayers for healing and hope.

Hi everyone, we can’t thank you enough for your love and support of my mom and our family. It was incredible to see so many people at her service and we appreciate your many kind words and wonderful stories about mom.

For those that weren’t able to stream (or if you’d like to watch it again!), the church provided us with a link to the entire service. This link will be good for 30 days. Please find it below:
