Journal entry by Amelia Mahfood —
Lisa went to the breast cancer specialist at UAB yesterday. She has seen Dr. Rocque before and she is always lovely and helpful. She strongly recommended continuing the treatment as Lisa’s currently taking it and that these levels are good. She was pleased that Lisa has been tolerating it at this strength. She also confirmed she would stay on the regimen until 1) Lisa’s body can’t tolerate it or 2) there is a metastasis. She is pleased to have been clean and clear until this point and firmly believes this regime is the right one for brain metastasis. When asked what to be watchful for, she focused on looking for neurological symptoms (headaches, vomiting, blurred vision, cognitive issues, etc). She said to exercise the cognitive functions like a muscle thru games, word puzzles, etc. So if you want to play spades or Scrabble, please come to see Lisa! She was very encouraging and pleased to see how well things are going.
Lisa and her sister, Cindi, celebrated this great news with a stop at Bucee’s on the way home.
God has been so good to us. We are grateful for each day He has given us. Thank you for your continued prayers.
