Happy Friday everyone. 

We have had a lot of people reaching out to see how mom has been doing. I realized I haven’t updated in about two months-whoops!

Before this week, things were going OK, other than some loss of coordination/balance. Mom did get a sweet new ride (a walker) that she has been adapting to well. The walker has given her more freedom while outside of the house. 

Now, she is back in the hospital. This time, with a severe case of shingles. This started just a few days ago when we noticed a rash appearing  on one side of her face. We took her in to a hospital near home that diagnosed the shingles and released her with oral medication and some eye ointment. They didn’t seem too concerned and said she may be uncomfortable for a couple of days, but would get better with the medication. 

when she woke up on Thursday (yesterday) the shingles had become worse, so much so that she had been vomiting and couldn’t stand or walk. Auntie Angela and I loaded her into the car and brought her down to Mayo. 

Now today, the shingles have started migrating into the other side of her head. To say it looks and sounds miserable is an understatement. I wouldn’t wish any of this upon my worst enemy  

she has been admitted to Methodist hospital where she will stay to be monitored and receive the care she needs until sometime next week, when she will hopefully be able to get back home, pending healing. 

I will update as we receivemore information. Praying that the next update can be a happier update for mom ❤️
