January 8, 2020: I didn't realize that this had never posted!

*******************

As most of you know, Lisa absolutely loved Halloween and went all out on her costumes.

One year at Greenhills, she found a great wedding dress at a thrift shop and decided to go as the Bride of Frankenstein. When the dress turned out to be very lowcut, she added a leather jacket to cover up a bit, Doc Martens, and a pride necklace to become the Bride of Frankenstein after her midlife lesbian conversion.

Some homophobic parents got upset and accused her of "recruiting" (because who doesn't deep down want to be a middle-aged lesbian bride of Frankenstein?). Being Lisa, she responded by every year thereafter going as some gay icon (who usually had been turned into a vampire). Her costumes included Oscar Wilde, Truman Capote, J. Edgar Hoover, George Takei (as zombie  Sulu), Liberace, Rachel Maddow, and Robin Hood.

I'm attaching Noel Coward, with some of the educational materials she always put up in her classroom about the figure she chose, and Liberace (with daughter Maria as Beetlejuice).

This year, Halloween was bittersweet for us. Lisa's dearest colleagues at Greenhills added some of the  sweetness by doing a joint costume in her memory and honor: they went as some (but only some!) of her passions . . .  as vampires. That's the third photo attached.

If you have holiday memories or pictures of Lisa, by all means add them to the site!
