Journal

I have been forever fearful that this crazy cancer will come back. God has given me a verse Psalm 112:7 that says I do not need to fear bad news I need to trust in the Lord. However, about three weeks ago I started experiencing pain in my abdomen again. At first I was OK with it and then I started to worry. I contacted my doctor and she got me in for a cat scan and I saw her within a matter of days. She did not feel that there was anything to worry about however, there was a small spot that she wanted to take a better look. She scheduled me for a pet scan and biopsy.

I had no problem with the Pet Scan however the biopsy had to wait a week since the doctor was going to be out of town. I went to have a needle biopsy on Tuesday. I met with the doctor prior to the procedure he explained some of the potential problems. The biopsy site was a very tight window in my abdomen where there was colon and an artery.  So there was potential that he could hit either one. He let me know that if that happened he could take care of it. I was fine and we begin the procedure. He was finally able to get the spot and get one biopsy sample. Immediately after that I began to bleed and he realized he had hit the artery.

I never had any fear and told the doctor not to worry that God did not save me from cancer to die from this and that he had been prayed for. He was able to repair the artery and everything was fine. Later he told me that he had had people with smaller hematomas “tank.”  He was an amazing doctor and I found out later that he did not want to do the procedure that my doctor had talk to me into it because otherwise I would have to have surgery.

I continue to be amazed at the medical professionals God puts in my life. I hear from many people about medical professionals that do not really care about their patients. Each and every doctor I’ve met has been amazing and so has their staff. God continues to show me each and every day that he still in charge and I need to rely on him.

I would ask you to continue praying for Family and me as we continue on this journey together.
