Journal entry by Jack Shearrer —
My beautiful, smart, kind, strong, funny, wild, compassionate mother, Lisa Ellen Berry Shearrer, passed today at noon. Surrounded by her children and her parents.
This is my last post here on caring bridge. We fought this hard, terrible battle for nearly three years. Without the support of this community we’ve built, we never would have made it this far. Thank you to the DSD, Dr. Ben Scheier, her phenomenal soccer team, all of her friends, and our incredible family. My brother, Connor, kept her in the best of care during a pandemic that seemed designed to kill her. My sister, Grace, worked her magic on a system that fought us every step of the way and ensured she had the most time here. She loved—-LOVES—every single one of you. She championed a life of gentle kindness and understanding and humor, and left everyone she met a little better than they were.
Thank you. I love you.
Jack
