Lisa’s Story

Site created on March 23, 2020

We are using this site to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting. On December 17th of 2018, my dear wife Lisa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon rectal Cancer that had spread to her Liver. Days after this devastating  news a good friend, nurse, cancer survivor and angel, Michelle encouraged me to write a blog to keep everyone informed and that's how this story began.  The beginning of this blog started on another site that has since shut down. I would encourage anyone in this situation to write a blog. It keeps everyone informed without having to repeat what is going on. Thank you again Nurse Michelle for giving me such good advise.

Journal entry by John Costa

Good evening,
Today we celebrated Lisa's life at a hall here in Windsor. It was a really beautiful turn out and so many came to give us their condolences and last respects. This was a another chapter to the testament of who Lisa was. Though it took a lot of tears and boxes of kleenex to put together the eulogy and picture slides for her but it was well worth it to honour her. Everyone can agree that she was an incredible person. The one thing I hope for once, though Lisa wasn't good at being the center of attention or even taking compliments in the physical world, I hope she looked over all of us and finally saw and realized what everyone thought of her. How she was so loving, positive and an incredibly inspirational she was in life. Not only through her battle over the last four years but how she lived her life from the time she was born till the moment she closed her beautiful eyes for the last time.

Lisa even in passing left us with so much. Lisa was so amazing she still leaves us so much. I hope just this one time Lisa you looked at yourself and got a glimpse of how amazing you were and believed it. Lisa everyone that knew you has known forever the person you are. There will never be another person that will ever match up with you.

I miss you more every day my perfect bride and I will always love you
