Journal entry by Jacob Pettengill

Good evening-

This will probably be my last post for awhile. I haven't posted since the death of Savayah, and I am sorry I didn't sooner.

We are doing well as a family. God's timing has been perfect. If she would have passed any later, we wouldn't have been able to have a funeral to celebrate her life. We wouldn't have been able to have multiple people up in our hospital room. We wouldn't have been able to be with family or friends. If she was still in the hospital, we would have been paranoid of her getting the coronavirus. It's crazy to think that her funeral was on Monday the 9th and we were out of school the next Monday because of Covid 19.

I wanted to use this post to thank everyone for the support we experienced. I wish I was able to thank everyone individually but I honestly don't know how to. The amount of support we had along the way was something I would have never imagined. I am not just saying that. It was incredible. Our communities and extended communities took us in and truly cared for us. For that Lisa and I feel grateful and humbled. We have learned from you as to how to treat someone who is in need, and we have grown based on how you have shown us. Thank you everyone for everything. You are special to us.

As we close here, I wanted to share with you a different video that had been created about Savayah's journey. You don't have to watch it as it is 13 minutes long, but it definitely gives a personal touch on her life. It shows her life from the very beginning until the end. I will link this at the bottom.

The last couple of things I want to make known is that Savayah's life had purpose. Her 85 days were special to us and we believe to many others. We find comfort knowing that she is in Heaven. Her life strengthened our relationship with God and others. If you are a follower of God, I hope you were strengthened in some way. If you don't know God but want to have a personal relationship with him, please don't hesitate to reach out. We would love to help you walk that journey. My last request is, if you ever experienced or heard of a story how Savayah touched your life or someone else, we would love to know. Those stories mean a lot to us, and we love hearing them.

Thank you everyone. We love and appreciate you.
