Journal entry by Lindsay McGrath —
Hi everyone! I am sorry I am a little delayed with this update for those of you following along. I had a PET scan on Monday, January 2nd and then an appointment on Thursday the 5th to go over the results. I am still in remission (yay!), and should have a very good long term prognosis because I was in remission after the second cycle. New data came out testing the long term efficacy of my chemo regimen and 90% of people were still alive at 8/9 years, and the people that responded to treatment at the end of the 4th treatment (like me) did very well. I still plan to read the trial, but haven’t had a chance yet. I now have check ups with my oncologist every three months with blood work and PET scans every 6 months for the first year. For the second year I will still have PET scans every 6 months and appointments with labs every 6 months as well. I hope this continues to be gone and there are no concerns of it returning so far! Also, I am going to try my best to send thank you’s for those of you that sent me money via Venmo, but I may not have your address. If I don’t get one to you, please know it is more appreciated than you know and I am so grateful for all the love and support. Thank you to my friends and boyfriend for setting up the Venmo and throwing me a surprise party. I was beyond shocked and still am.
I started back in clinical in MN on Tuesday, January 3rd. I am very rusty with the time I have taken off, but we are back on track to graduate PA school in December 2023.
Thank you all again for the endless support, prayers and thoughts!
