Welcome to Lindsay’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportIt's been a minute since we've provided an update on Lindsay's status. Luckily, no bad news to share! Lindsay is continuing to tolerate the chemo meds very well. There were a few weeks for her that saw a notable decline in energy, appetite and overall malaise but this week she seems to be back closer to her baseline. Lindsay was dealing with a frustrating and uncomfortable increase in fluid retention that has been managed by decreasing her steroid dose which also means a bit more sleep for her so that has been very appreciated. Lindsay's taste continues to change as we move through chemo - no longer finding lots of animal proteins, garlic, onion or strong/spicy flavors appetizing. Tatum was able to secure Open Arms meals for Lindsay and Paul so she is now receiving healthy, cancer-friendly meals twice a day. The most significant impact of treatment so far for Lindsay seems to be the "chemo brain." The brain fog has made it challenging for her to function as she normally would. Lindsay is choosing to no longer drive and will be taking her leave sooner than initially planned. She will now be on leave from work from May 20th until September 23rd. We have 5 weeks left of chemo with a tentative plan to begin the work-up for BMT shortly after that but we're hopeful that we will be given a more concrete timeline for stem cell transplant in the next few weeks.
Also want to give some shout outs for people who have gone above and beyond to support Lindsay:
To wrap this up, we want to say a HUGE congratulations to Lindsay's son, Nolan and her daughter-in-law, Sarah, on their upcoming baby. Baby Byhre is due September 30th and Lindsay is beyond excited to have a grandbaby.
