Linda’s Story

Site created on August 5, 2022

Thank you for visiting Linda's CaringBridge website.
At the end of June 2022, Linda was diagnosed with a rare form of Stage 4 uterine cancer.  Only weeks before, she had a been told she was healthy as a horse, so this came as quite a shock.  The journey plan at the  moment is 6 sessions of Chemo from now until November, with reassessments half way through. There have been hospital stays and bumps along the way already so far, but we take each day at a time and are trusting the Lord as our help and refuge.
We have been overwhelmed by the overflow of love and support from friends and family ever since. We hope to use this site as place to keep friends and family updated as well as to organize links to meal trains and practical support as Sarah, Deborah and John are spread out between North Carolina, Norway and Ireland. Thank you so much for loving Rob and Linda this way through this difficult time. Your support means the world to us and we thank God for His care through all of you!
-Love, Rob, Linda, Sarah, John, Deborah and families

Journal entry by Lind Porter

Thanks for all your prayers!  While I waited for the approval process, I was able to start taking the Lynparza pills on January 24 from a prescription donation program the hospitals have.  After several denials and appeals, I was approved on February 1 to receive the Lynparza from a help program the manufacturer of the drug has with no cost to me!
