Newest Update

Journal entry by Nikki Geist

9.6 - Chemo Day - a little tired, not sleeping though.

9.7 - Eating and feeling the same, not sleeping well, but no Chemo side effects.

9.8 - Eating and feeling fine, she couldn't believe she even had Chemo! Same as yesterday, not sleeping well.

9.9 - Tired, very tired with horrible right knee pain, she asked for a brace for her knee and explained the pain is like a someone drilling from inside the bone.  She's using a cane to get back and forth to the restroom.  She is still eating, but more or less forcing herself to eat because she doesn't want to end up in the hospital.  She's a trooper! She's finally getting some sleep off and on.  Highest Temp taken was 99.9.  She's noticing some 'chemo brain fog' too.

9.10 - This morning we took her temp, 99.4.  She is very tired and moving slowly.  She asked about pain meds today, such as Tylenol or Advil.  I suggested she take 1/2 of the prescribed Oxy for now, she said maybe later.  She doesn't like pain meds, so her asking for them is a pretty big deal.  Once I get home from work tonight, I'm going to make sure she is very comfortable, considering.  I'm picking up a forehead thermometer and some good lotion after work. Chemo causes dry skin as a side effect and hers if very dry.  She is in good spirits and just pushing through the best she can.

I'm hoping her temp doesn't rise, she really doesn't want to go to the hospital so we're going to do everything we can to make sure that doesn't happen.

I'm ordering some CBD oil for the pain today.
