Journal entry by linda horton

Another 3 mos and still in remission!  Scans were clear and CA19-9 is holding steady.  Another scan/blood work in 3 mos and this cycle will continue through March of 2024.  Pray I keep holding on to good reports because it's now hubby's time on the cancer merry-go-round.  Dave has been diagnosed with large diffuse (Non Hodgkin's) B cell lymphoma.  I know.  I hear you loud and clear.....YOU'RE KIDDING!!!???  Nope.  I think we're due for a break in the coming year.  My oncologist swears God knows one of us has to be well to take care of the other and Lord knows, Dave has held me up for many, many years.  My turn to be caregiver.

His port was put in this morning and he'll start chemo on the 21st.  Throw in a previous heart condition, a new diagnosis of atrial fibrillation, and it's like walking on egg shells.  He'll have to wear a heart monitor to watch how his heart responds to each of the 5 drugs in his regimen and they'll adjust accordingly.  Thank goodness this is the same team that works with me so we trust them implicitly.

What a life!  Thanks for all the prayers and concern.  We're two tough ol' birds and we'll make it over this hurdle!
