Journal entry by Tricia Tidemann —
Hello to all that may still get alerts from caring bridge about my mom. I thought I would give an update for those who may not know.
When she was hospitalized in the beginning of the year for pancreatitis we were told that she had Kidney cancer and that she would have to wait to have it removed because they wanted to deal with the pancrease first. She had many scans and biopsies and they decided on a course of action but then about a month ago she began having pains again. The pain was differant than before and that same day they did an emergency gallbladder removal, apparently you don't really need your gallblader so they took it out. She was out of the hospital the same day and healed up well. It did not seem to phase her much at all.
Once she was fully up and healthy again they decided to take care of the kidney and so last week she under went surgery to freeze the cancer on her kidney. It was a very long procedure but it went well and hope is that they got it all. They will do scans in a month when they check her pancrease again.
My mom has had quite the year. Thanks again to all who have supported her through all the ups and downs.
