Linda’s Story

Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated on mom's health and well-being in one place. 

In 2022 mom was diagnosed with Lewy Body Dementia. After her diagnosis we moved her to a Senior Community in Blaine in an assisted living memory unit.  She had a beautiful room where she was able to take care of most of her own needs and was close to many of her kids and grandkids. 

In the last few months she has steadily declined and is no longer able to care for herself, so we have moved her to a wonderful Foster Care home in Isanti where she has care 24 hours a day by amazing people. This is the same Foster Care home that mom had picked out for dad before he passed away in 2019. Though dad never ended up moving to the Foster Care home, we are happy to know that mom had selected this home herself. 

As of Monday, January 29th she is in hospice care, being cared for by the same wonderful hospice team who cared for dad. Although she has difficulty speaking, her carers believe she hears most of what is being said. Mom knows when people are with her and loves when people sit with her and hold her hand.  Hospice is encouraging visitors and said that family and friends can talk with her, have conversations near her, or just sit with her quietly. It is good for mom to know that she is surrounded by people who love and care for her.

Grandma passed away peacefully early this morning. Her last few days with us were quiet and filled with family time. 

Thank you to everyone for your kinds words for Grandma and her family.

Her funeral will be held on Sunday, February 25th at the Kelsie Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel. The visitation will start at 2:30 pm and the service will start at 3:30 pm.
