Journal entry by Deb Kunze —
Good morning- this is Linda’s daughter, Deb. I just wanted to give you a mini update.
As some of you know, I haven't been able to see mom since Friday afternoon due to my catching the flu.
But, there is great news!!
Mom was discharged from the hospital & given the okay to go home. Admittedly, I was a bit concerned when I heard she’d be coming home so soon, but after speaking with her last night, I was amazed at how energetic she sounded. My mom had me on speaker, and my brother, Matt, said she’d been up and moving around since she got home. She said she’d felt so tired and confused for so long that it felt really good to be up and doing things!
The surgeon said full results from the shunt may take a couple of months, and adjustments are par for the course, so I did not expect the response she’s experienced thus far. We continue to be hopeful & we are so grateful to God for watching over her and the entire surgical team. We are also incredibly humbled and grateful for the love you all have for mom and our family. I promise you, she feels it, and so do we! Thank you so very much!❤️
Of course, Mom & Dad are together in sickness & in health, but they are already dreaming of making up for lost time, traveling and just enjoying being together without so much of the sickness part of things. I, for one, want that for them more than anything.
