We were able to fly in the medical jet to Cincinnati childrens hospital on Thursday! Lila loved flying…especially the bumps when going through the clouds and the wobbling when close to landing. She felt like a bird! 

We feel good about having some of Lila’s specialists getting their eyes on her and helping to get us going in the right direction. They adjusted her ventilator settings to give her more support and her blood gas looked better tonight. They just seem to know better what she needs so I’m hopeful we can at least get her respiratory status better while here and on the right track for getting back to baseline eventually. They plan to have her go to OR Wednesday to do an MLB (upper respiratory scope) as they really feel like we need to take a good look as to what is really going on. She has not had much change in her tongue movement, swallow or spit coming from trach stoma. Her trach stoma is getting so sore from all the moisture that is constantly flowing from it. 

Being in Cincinnati has been SO good for me and Lila’s mental state. We both feel so much better as now we can see loved ones and have different scenery. Kade and Nate came today and we also got a visit from grandparents and Aunt Mel. So needed!! We have been so blessed by our good friend Molly who was in Philadelphia with me much of the time and who also drove my car back so I could fly with Lila. Thank you!! As our sweet insurance case manager always has told me, “It takes a village”. It sure does! We so appreciate the village around us!
