Journal

I wanted to do a quick update.   Levi woke up about midnight on Monday night with a fever of 104.  Tylenol helped bring it down for awhile.   We chose to wait until the oncology clinic opened in the morning versus going to ER.  In the morning I sent a message to his oncologist so it would be there for when the team came into work.  I did receive a call telling me the doctor wanted me to bring Levi in to the castle and she was going to admit him.  I was a little surprised at that.  So I threw things together for a couple of days in the hospital if needed and we headed to the Castle.
Once we got there they got an IV going (he wasn't drinking much for us) took blood, and did a nasal swab.
Levi was not at all himself and I was trying not to panic.  I hated seeing him like this.   Blood work started coming back and was all pretty normal so I could breathe a little easier.  Adam and I were sure at this point it was probably influenza.  It took a few hours for the nasal swab to come back.  It has 22 different viruses that are being tested for.  Levi tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. COVID  My panic was high again.
Levi's doctor came in and went over the treatment plan.  He would be receiving a steroid and then a medication.  This treatment would be daily for 5 days.  So that means five days here in the hospital.   We are finishing up day/treatment number 3.  Hopefully home on Saturday maybe Sunday.   Levi fever did break Tuesday.   He is doing better.  Still not 100%.  Tires easily,  and I think his body aches.  He will get super fussy all of a sudden.   So all I can think is body aches. His IV did not last long Tuesday after they put it in.  It infiltrated so it had to be pulled.   They put a midline in his groin.  OUCH!!!  So far it is lasting. Prayers it continues to work well.  Adam has continued to work and Josie is going to school.  We are keeping her away from him and praying she doesn't get it.
Levi and I are in isolation.  This is hard for me.  Not being able to go get myself water or coffee is hard.  I hate that I have to ask the nurses to bring it to me.
He is much better tonight from when we came in.  I am thankful for that.  Please keep him in your prayers as we go through these last few days here in the hospital.   We have enjoyed seeing many familiar faces.  Most of the through a window in our room but, we love it just the same.

Thank you for all the prayers.
