Dad died last night at 11:30 pm while I held his hand. Here is the obituary. Please feel free to share it widely.

LeRoy Eugene Olson, Age 86, passed away January 5^th, 2023. 

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 

He is survived by his wife Janice and his children Janine Olson (Jerome Deyle) of St Cloud, MN and Steven (Kristin) Olson of Maple Grove, MN;

grandchildren Kate (Jeff) Tchida of Hastings, MN, Samuel (Lacy) Olson of Minneapolis, MN, Madelyn Olson (Ilyas Danami) of Minneapolis, MN,  Audrey Olson of Maple Grove, MN ;

great-grandchildren Sonnie, Jack, Madeliyn and Zahir.  

Born in Boyd, MN, raised in Dawson MN, a graduate of Vocational High School in Minneapolis, MN, LeRoy served 4 years as a Marine before meeting and marrying the love of his life, Janice in 1961.  LeRoy went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Manufacturing Engineering.  He had a successful career with Control Data, Iomega and Hutchinson Technology before retiring and focusing on his love of woodworking, golf and time at the lake with his family. 

Memorial service will be held January 14^th at 11:00am with visitation 1 hour prior at Gethsemane Lutheran in Dassel, MN.  Donations to Gethsemane Lutheran Church preferred in lieu of flowers.
