This is Shane Hessenius, Leonard's nephew, I want to let everyone know that Leonard passed this morning at 8:35 a.m.  I know that people are following this caring bridge site from near and far, I will post again once we are able to plan and organize celebration of life requests from "Uncle Leonard".  At his request, we will try our best to plan this down the road so that people who need to travel can make it and we are all able enjoy a celebration of Leonard's life.  Please keep Leonard's family and friends in your thoughts as he has moved on to "teach medical school".  Those are his words, not mine :-).  Please remember "It's hard not to smile when looking through a Kaleidoscope!"
