As you can see by the Subject text I have great news to report. We met with the doctor this afternoon and he has confirmed that Leona is in COMPLETE REMISSION from her Lymphoma!!! Obviously we could not be happier! In addition, her hemoglobin and hematocrit numbers are now within normal range, so no more anemia!  

So the next question I’m sure on everyone’s mind is “What’s Next?”

Leona will be in “Observation” now for the next year or so. This means that she will have blood tests and doctor’s visits every 3 months, have her MediPort flushed out every 6 weeks, and CT Scans every 6 months for the next couple of years.

She can now schedule her COVID booster shot, and in March start making her other medical and dental appointments. She is still somewhat immunosuppressed, so needs to be very careful (as I guess we all do now) around other people. So our immediate life doesn’t change, other than the mental knowledge that she no longer has cancer in her body!

We want to thank everyone SO MUCH for all your support and help over these past 6 months. It has made this ordeal much more manageable for us. It is a journey we do not wish on anyone, but we hope that anyone who does have to deal with something like this will have the same love and support we have had from all of you.
