Journal entry by Lenny Lenny —
I visited my dad today. He is on 50% oxygen. Yesterday he was on 90%. They are removing the chest tube. He is still running a temp 101. He is talking, but still very garbled at times, not making a lot of sense. Sometimes he does, most times not.
They did try to sit him up on the side if the bed but he needed to lay back down after about 10 min. He is very weak. There are not alot of major changes. He is still in CVICU.
I did ask today when they thought the delirium and confusion would start to get better. The answer they gave was " could be 2 weeks, could be 2 months, could be 2 years."
I feel as though the answers to my questions are danced around. I never really know anymore than I did before I asked. Maybe it's because they really dont know much more than I do. I understand this is a game of "maybe"
Maybe he will get better. Maybe he won't.
Maybe he will remember, maybe he wont.
The answer I get the most is, "Time will tell."
