Lena’s Story

Site created on April 30, 2022

Welcome to our CaringBridge website, "Love for Lena." We are maintaining this site so that we can keep Lena's many friends and family updated - no matter where they are.

Lena's breast cancer diagnosis came about from her own observation of something looking "not right." She acted quickly and wisely sought medical advice. Lena feels very confident in her medical team and feels very comfortable under their care. Lena's treament is through Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health and the Ann B. Barshinger Cancer Institute in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

Thanks for all of your support now and in the days ahead! ~ Lisa Campbell, Lena's daughter

Journal entry by Lena Hohenadel

Dear Friends
Your prayers and support literally carried me through the past year.

Today, almost exactly one year after diagnosis (4/12),  I’m so happy to share good news. My first mammogram on Friday shows NO sign of malignancy. My heart is full of gratitude to our God who is so good, and to you.

I hope not one of you will ever face a cancer diagnosis, but if you do, know that it is manageable, and that healthcare today is so promising. There were many blessings too. I realized so vividly (it’s the best descriptive) how lucky I am and what a wonderful community of friends and family I have.

None of us knows what tomorrow will bring, but for today, thank you, God❤️  Love you all.

Lena
