Lemuel’s Story

Site created on August 28, 2020

There are not many things that can get Lemuel down.  He's always been full of energy, our "Energizer Bunny," running circles around men half his age. But the past few years have been exceptionally difficult on him, losing his precious wife of 69 years, Oleta, and the recurrence of prostate cancer, a triple bypass, and then a cystectomy for bladder cancer.  With friends and loved ones the world over, his updates will be posted here by his children to keep you informed.  Thanks for your love and words of encouragement!

Journal entry by Vickie Thomas

Our sweet daddy is realizing what, until now, he has only imagined.  As of this morning, he has seen his Lord face to face, he has seen streets of gold, and mansions prepared by Jesus who promised it all!

As our way of bringing closure to this chapter, we are preparing for a celebration of Dad's life and invite you to join us, either in person, or live streaming on Saturday, January 29, 2022 in College Station, Texas at Hillier Funeral Home, 4080 State Hwy 6 South, from 2-5pm. The actual service is planned for 3pm.  Dad's obit and other information will be posted soon on Hillier's website, but for now, I hope you'll tune in to this song shared with me today by my good friend Gay Dillman.  It is so perfect!

WELL DONE by The Afters

What will it be like, when my pain is gone and all the worries of this world just fade away?

What will it be like when you call my name and that moment when I see you face to face?

I’m waiting my whole life to hear you say --

Well done, well done my good and faithful one; Welcome to the place where you belong.

Well done, well done my beloved child.  You have run the race and now you’re home,

Welcome to the place where u belong.

What will it be like when tears are washed away, And every broken thing will finally be made whole?

What will it be like when I come into your glory standing in the presence of a love so beautiful?

I’m waiting my whole life for that day; I will live my life to hear you say --

Well done, well done. My good and faithful one; welcome to the place where you belong.

Well done, well done, my beloved child. You have run the race and now you’re home.

Welcome to the place where you belong.

What will it be like when I hear that sound?

All of heaven’s angels crying out: singing holy, holy, holy are you, Lord

Singing holy, holy, holy are you, Lord,

Singing holy, holy, holy are you Lord

Waiting my whole life for that day; until then I’ll live to hear you say --

Well done, well done, my good and faithful one; welcome to the place where you belong

Well done, well done my beloved child you have run the race & now you’re home.

Welcome to the place where you belong.

Well done.
