Leah’s Story

Site created on November 2, 2018

We all know what a fun, clever, loving woman Leah is and how much she means to her family and friends.  Unfortunately, on Tuesday, October 30th, she went to the hospital with sepsis that results from an area of someone's body that is very sick.  For Leah, this resulted in being her small bowel (intestine).  On Wednesday, October 31st, a large portion of damaged bowel was removed.  The bowel that remains is not in very good shape.  She has a very long road ahead of her during which there will likely be many ups and downs.  We thank you for your love and prayers for our sweet girl.

One year ago today Leah was fighting for her life. She clung to this cross when she wasn’t able to do anything else. Her battle isn’t over by any means but my have we ever come a long way! Leah held this cross today with a big smile. She has decided it’s time to send this cross to someone else who is in the midst of a health crisis. Fight on Leah!
